Crossmark Policy
Crossmark is a multi-publisher initiative to provide readers with a standard way to find the current version of certain content. Applying the Crossmark logo, Revista Ibero Americana de Podologia is committed to maintaining the content it publishes and alerting readers to possible changes that may occur.
When you click on the Crossmark logo included in each item, the system will inform you of the current status of a document and also provide information about the item's modification history. One of the ways in which the Revista Ibero Americana de Podologia will use the Crossmark will be to include information about the new revised versions of the article, as well as any new contributions related to the article that the expert reviewers (referees) may make after its publication.
Revista Ibero Americana de Podologia recognizes the importance of maintaining the integrity of research data for researchers, librarians and health professionals, and for this reason it has developed a policy for the correction, retraction, elimination and replacement of articles, addressing these concerns taking into account the current best editorial practices.
Although our model allows authors to update their articles and publish new versions, articles that have already been published will remain as unchanged as possible. However, in exceptional circumstances, an item may have to be changed later, actions that will not be taken lightly. These circumstances include:
Correction of the article: Sometimes, after the completion of the peer review, the authors may realize that a small part of their article may contain incorrect data or information. This may be the result of an error on the part of the authors or an error introduced during the editorial process of the journal. In such cases, a correction can be justified. A revised version of the article or correction note will be produced, clearly detailing the reasons and the modified content.
Editorial Note: In some circumstances, it may be appropriate to add an Editorial Note to an article. This action can be taken if Revista Ibero Americana de Podologia receives information that a research or publication misconduct may have occurred or that an alleged research misconduct is in progress. An Editorial Note is a useful way to alert readers to a possible problem with an article while conducting another survey.
Withdrawal of articles: this action is reserved for articles with serious deficiencies, therefore, its results or conclusions can be significantly affected. Item retractions can occur for several reasons. This may include honest errors reported by the authors themselves (for example, errors due to mixing samples or the use of a scientific tool or equipment where defects are subsequently observed), as well as issues such as research misconduct (data manufacturing) , duplication or overlapping publication, fraudulent use of data, plagiarism or unethical research. For any item withdrawn, the reason that prompted the withdrawal will be clearly indicated in the recall notice. The notice of retraction will be linked to the retracted article and the article will be clearly marked as retracted (including PDF).
Elimination of articles: the elimination of an article would only be carried out when there were legal limitations imposed on the publisher, the copyright holder, for example, when the article is clearly defamatory or infringes the legal rights of third parties or when the item is the subject of court order. Bibliographic information for a deleted article will be retained on the website along with information about the circumstances that led to the exclusion.
Substitution of articles: an article can be replaced in case of publication of false or inaccurate data that could represent a serious health risk. Here, authors can remove the original article and replace it with a corrected version. The reason for the replacement will be clearly indicated in the replacement item.
Revista Ibero Americana de Podologia will follow the Magazine's Code of Conduct for Editors. We will regularly follow international standards and best practices and update these policies according to developments, as appropriate.
