The mission of the REVISTA IBERO-AMERICANA DE PODOLOGIA is to publish relevant scientific articles in the broader sense of the different aspects of health sciences. Interact with different professionals and institutions to promote and promote scientific production in the field of Podiatry. It targets professionals, teachers and students who work in this field of study. It has four-monthly periodicity with articles evaluated by members of the editorial board and ad hoc reviewers. The REVISTA IBERO-AMERICANA DE PODOLOGIA publishes unpublished texts in the form of articles that address scientific research, which are the responsibility of their authors and do not necessarily express the viewpoint of the editorial board. As a scientific journal, the Iberian-American Journal of Podiatry, in its preliminary assessment will analyze: 1. Whether the text follows the style patterns and bibliographic standards of a scientific article; 2. If the article makes clear its methodology, based on bibliographic references; 3. If the authors, in order to guarantee the state of the art, cite in their theoretical framework a minimum but sufficient number of recent references (if up to 10 years) extracted from both national and international scientific journals; 4. If the references comply accordingly with the author-date system of ABNT NBR 10520/2001 (p.4).

Peer Review Process

A REVISTA IBERO-AMERICANA DE PODOLOGIA, by adopting the process of prior evaluation of articles, aims to improve them through collaboration with the authors. A REVISTA IBERO-AMERICANA DE PODOLOGIA, only accepts article for consideration if it is unpublished and is not being submitted to another journal. The evaluation process consists of two steps: First: a preliminary evaluation by the editorial board, which examines the suitability of the work for the journal editorial line and a basic scientific quality according to the scope: Second: the evaluation by two referees for final decision on their acceptance or not. Approved articles are taken to the Editorial Committee meeting to prepare the journal. The author will be informed about the progress of the process via email.

All published articles have open access and are available for free online, immediately after publication. Archiving

The Iberian American Journal of Podiatry uses LOCKSS to create a distributed file system among participating libraries and allows them to create permanent journal archives for preservation and restoration.

Scientific Editorial Board

The Scientific Editorial Board or Editorial Board is made up of PhD professors from different teaching and research institutions in Brazil and abroad, with academic recognition. Some of its members work in the various areas of the Ibero-American Journal of Podiatry, but not collectively, that is, with no provision for regular meetings (face-to-face or virtual) to address issues. Following the model common to national scientific journals, there is no formal involvement of the members of the Editorial Board with the Ibero-American Journal of Podiatry, and the Institute of Scientific Podiatry (ICP) in the responsibility for publishing the journal. The participation of each member in the journal takes place individually, through an articulation of the Editor and the Editorial Committee. Scientifically, the members of the Board act as advisors to the Editor and the Editorial Board, promoting the journal, suggesting improvements in editorial policy and strategies for academic and professional action. Managers are expected to express their views on the consistency of editorial policy and publications, their quality and also on the ethical issues pertinent to editorial management and the dissemination of articles. Each member also assumes the role of “ombudsman” of the scientific community active in the area, ensuring the academic credibility and expected posture of a scientific journal. As the Editorial Board is removed from the article mediation process (not having access to the metadata of the articles under review), it does not supervise or interfere with the editorial process, so it can submit articles to the Ibero-American Journal of Podiatry and participate in the process like any other. author.

Editorial Policy Committee

The Editorial Policy Committee is responsible for the operational management of the magazine. It is he, in consensus with the ICP, who defines the magazine's chief editor.

The editor coordinates the editorial process and promotes the development of the authors and reviewers of the publication. Its commitment is that the journal offers the best in terms of new knowledge within the thematic area, observing the highest ethical standards in the article selection process.

Editorial team

The editorial team is composed of the editor-in-chief and the associate editors by subject area. Associate editors are close collaborators of the publisher, with significant involvement in the day-to-day editorial process. In terms of assignments, they may make the final decision whether or not to publish a paper in their specific area.

Publishing Ethics

The editor plays a central role in the ethical control of the process of evaluation and publication of scientific research. Thus, the Ibero-American Journal of Podiatry is concerned with the ethical issues of articles published in its editions, requesting all authors with works that directly or indirectly involve human beings, to evaluate the competent Research Ethics Committee (CEP). with the author. “Ethics is neither code nor law! Plagiarism Policy
The assumptions of plagiarism are: a) to present works of others as yours; b) adopt words or ideas of other authors without due recognition; c) do not use quotes in a literal quote; d) paraphrase a source without mentioning it; e) abusive paraphrase, even if the source is mentioned.
The general assumptions of scientific fraud are as follows: a) fabrication, falsification or omission of data and plagiarism; b) duplicate publication; and c) conflicts of authorship.
All accepted papers are submitted to plagiarism detection software. The Journal adopts the CrossRef system for identification of plagiarism and or similarity.
The authors will assume the consequences of any kind arising from the breach of the obligations stated in these editorial rules.
In cases where plagiarism is incurred, the Editorial Coordination will follow the following procedure: evidence of detected plagiarism will be sent to the author (s) requesting an explanation of the plagiarism. If the answer is unsatisfactory, the article will not be published and, if applicable, the media in which the original plagiarized article was published will be informed.
